Blackstone Hollow is a developing breeding and competition program built around deliberate selection, long-term improvement, and horses that earn their place in the bloodline.
We do not breed simply to produce another foal.
Every planned pairing has a purpose. Foundation horses are developed fully, bloodlines are evaluated carefully, and offspring are retained based on genetics, performance potential, and how well they fit the future of the Hollow.

THE ELDERBLOOD PROJECT
AN OLD-WORLD RIDING HORSE PROJECT
The Elderblood Project is Blackstone Hollow's selective crossbreeding experiment inspired by the useful riding horses of early medieval Europe.
We are not attempting to claim a perfect recreation of a lost historical breed. Instead, we are working backward from the traits we would want in a capable riding horse suited to rough travel and demanding work:
hardy • sure-footed • agile • intelligent • enduring
strong without becoming excessively heavy
The project began with four purebred foundation horses, each selected for a specific purpose.

The best offspring from those two branches will eventually be crossed together to create the first complete Elderblood generation.

BLACKSTONE BLOODLINES
Outside of the Elderblood Project, Blackstone Hollow continues developing its primary horses and carefully selected homebred lines.
Our program includes established horses such as Vesper, Riven, Veyra, and Wraith, along with younger Blackstone-bred horses including Sunder, Wyrd, and Morrow.
Each generation is evaluated individually. Some horses remain as future breeding stock, some become competition horses, and others may be offered for sale when they no longer fit the direction of the program.
COMPETITION PROGRAM
Blackstone horses are developed according to their individual genetic strengths rather than forced into a single discipline.
Current competition paths include:
Sombra — Western Pleasure
Rime — Cutting
Hrafn — Western Pleasure
Cairn — Classical Show Jumping
Rook — Classical Gallop / Grand Prix utility
Competition is used not only for victories, but as part of developing horses toward full BLUP and evaluating how each animal performs under the strengths its genetics suggest.
HORSES FOR SALE
Blackstone Hollow occasionally offers horses through direct sales.
A horse being sold does not necessarily mean it is poor quality. Selective breeding means not every horse can remain within the program, and some may simply fit another player's goals better than ours.
Our focus remains on keeping the horses that best advance Blackstone's long-term breeding direction.
BLACKSTONE HOLLOW EQUESTRIAN CENTER
Blackstone Hollow is also home to our growing equestrian center.
The center is being expanded gradually with a long-term goal of approximately 50 quality boarding boxes, strong pasture capacity, dependable food production, quality equipment, competitive events, and steadily improving prestige.
