BLUPing Tips
BLUPing a horse provides the best chance to further your Genetic Potential in the next generation. When I started Howrse, I didn't understand BLUP at all and did some playing around to figure it out on my own over the years. Essentially, the higher the BLUP number is, the higher the chance of the next foal receiving a higher GP than the parents.

Here's the Short:

1. Max out the three Top Skills for your horse's breed - on desktop, these are the skills that have a little arrow (>) next to them in the training panel.
Go on Rides until the only thing that comes up underneath the duration of your ride is an energy cost, with no "+ (skill)". This is not including Beach Rides.
Competitions include some skill gain too. Compete in the competitions which level up the three Top Skills until the only text remaining on the pop up is the time and energy cost.

2. Win 20 Competitions.
3. Reach 10 years old.

JA Foundation - Purebred Quarter Horses
This project started a bit all over the place (rip), but I'm cleaning it up piece by piece. It is Quarter Horses descending from my Foundie pair, Snowy Mulligan and Surging Rush. Currently, a few other QH have the affix (hence the messy description) but I'm going to remove it from the ones I still own who are from external breeding. Sold a couple before the clean up though! The goal for this affix is to collect all the coats and see how far I can push the GP on my own.

JA Brumbies - Purebred Brumbies (Riding Horse and Unicorn, presently)
I'd be doing my Australian nationality dirty if I didn't have some brumbies, wouldn't I? Good thing I've got some! This project is two in one, eventually I'll branch the unicorns into their own affix, but for now they're in one.

Riding Horses

This is the project where I've used a little bit of irl payment to get started. The breeding pair is Ossa and Blueblood, where Ossa is from a Champion Seed and Blueblood is a Gaia's Foal. The main goal here is to, again, collect all the coats for the different species. This is why Ossa was made into a pegasus, she marks off the first pegasi coat.

Unicorns

This started because I got a brumby unicorn for 10p and had no one to tell me no! I'm just continuing down the same goal, though. Coat collection, seeing where I can go with GP if I just keep it to my own breeding farm. Currently a mess of a family tree, but that's fine, it's just a bit CK3-ish. (Maybe Targaryen...)
