RaraEquus.com - distinctive equestrian items

In real life, I breed rare American Bashkir Curly Horses. On howrse I settle for whatever breed is popular. ;-)

I ride mostly dressage and am beginning to get interested in eventing. This is the gelding I spend most of my saddle time on. His name is Regal and together we won the breed registry's title for 2006 National Champion Performance Horse. I had to wait until I was 22 to begin riding and Regal was my first horse. We're having a lot of fun making up for lost time!

Here's a shot of my gelding at our first dressage show in October. We won our Intro B test with a 69.5 and won our Training 2 test with a 66.5! At our second show a few weeks ago we won Training Level Reserve champion!

A Note on Inbreeding

Inbreeding real horses is a very bad thing. This game is not real life.

The danger in real horses is that DNA of interrelated horses is more likely to mutate. Electronic and imaginary genes do not mutate. Therefore within the game there is NO disadvantage to inbreeding.

Howrses cannot be treated like their real life counterparts. You can't say it's not okay to inbreed but IS okay to put a horse through 3 or 4 cross-county events in a day, multiple days in a row- or that it is okay to compete a mare the same day she gives birth- or to give your horse a sex change for that matter!

Additionally, ALL horses on howrse are descended from common parents Ouranos and Gaia. Therefore, it is impossible to breed ANY two horses in the game without inbreeding.

I also own his mother (my favorite broodmare)

A 2007 foal out of her, named Debutante. (Sired by the producer of the previous year's national champion)

And a filly named Kawai who we imported from Canada last fall:

We also have a half-arab curly mare who produced a FEI competitive  horse who was named reserve horse for the 2004 USET.

Did you know that Bashkir Curly Horse are hypoallergenic?

And that not all Bashkir Curlies are Curly?

We happen to love the curls, but some allergic riders prefer the straight hypoallergenic coats.

I am as careful breeding on Howrse as I am in real life. (with the exception of inbreeding,  electronic genes don't mutate. rieur.png) If you are interested in a breeding or one of my young foals, please let me know. Be aware however, that passes are usually involved - producing this quality is pass intensive.
