The Basics:

Hello everyone!

To start things off, I'm an adult female player who is largely in the game for my own entertainment.  It's something I do to stave off boredom when I'm not working, traveling, spending time with my pets and family, or off having adventures wherever I find them.  I've been a player for some time, though I left the game for quite a while.  I have returned for the foreseeable future and intend to build a strong line of Lusitano mares.  I sell or gender-change any colts produced, but otherwise, my horses are generally not for sale.  I don't often buy Black Market items from other players unless it's via the Exchange.  However, I will say that I'm open to reasonable offers on my stock/items from time to time.  I'm also open to random conversation, because I like getting to know people (especially people interested in horses).

A little about me: I have two bachelor's degrees and currently work as a department head for a large veterinary practice.  My goal is to get back to school at some point in pursuit of a Master's degree, but until that time, I'll learn all I can by reading.  I love to read and though I do own a Kindle, there's little I like better than diving into a new book.  If that makes me sound sedentary, think again!  I love to hike, horseback ride, participate in archery and shooting (I have the trophies to prove it), and occasionally go fishing.  I run 2-3 times per week.  I have a beautiful German Shepherd named Raegan, a Maine Coon mix named Rebel who normally goes by "Kitten", and a Beagle named Indy (short for Independence, as she was born on July 4, 2005).  I've owned two horses (a Paint mare named Jetta and a Tennessee Walking Horse gelding named Blackjack), though I haven't been riding in some time.  I get to a racetrack at least once a year - Colonial Downs in New Kent, VA usually - and have been to both the Kentucky Derby (2009) and the Breeder's Cup (2010).  I can happily say that I was present for Rachel Alexandra's victory in the Woodward Stakes at Saratoga and sadly, that I witnessed Zenyatta's only defeat from the rail at Churchill Downs.  I've met Curlin, Cigar, and A.P. Indy and toured Lane's End.  One of these days, I'll finally live my dream and move to Kentucky where I can work with the Thoroughbred industry full time.

Eventually, I'll post a few pictures from my racing experiences.  Until then, have a look around and feel free to say hi!
