About me: I'm a Christian, a wife, and a mom of 3 kids who started playing howrse with them a long time ago. One kid is still on here, devonedevon. I enjoy it even more than he does - he didn't log in for too long and had to start over. :o.png?1828806360 Oops.

A few hints for maximizing your horse's energy levels:

1. Stroking a horse gives more energy the closer your horse's energy is to 0. The higher the energy levels, the less energy stroking gives.

2. Although feeding in the meadow is no longer possible, you can still give your horse more energy by split-feeding. When your horse's energy is high, at the start of the day, you can give it 7 fodder (assuming it's large enough to eat that much), and have energy at 100%. Then feed the rest of the meal at the end of the day, to make sure energy levels are over 20%.

3. You can no longer put your horse in a box, but the same bonuses are still available through completing mission. Note: if your horse has a Helios Ray, its morale will never drop.

4. It's ok to let your horse's energy levels fall to 0 during the day, but bring it right back up again to at least 20. If you leave a horse overnight with 5% energy or less, it will die unless you use a BM item on it.

Hints for training to 100 BLUP:

1. Don't save your racing till the horse is fully trained. Equip it as soon as it turns 3.

2. Completing missions will occasionally give you a tub of grease. This will give you a temporary boost in skills. While training, you should race when you have a ToG, and train when you do not.

3. Start the training in speed and dressage, which will boost the overall skills of your horse while keeping them in the lower-level competitions on their individual skills. You can often get all 20 wins racing your horse in its lowest skill. For example, my Arabians may win a few cross-country races, but most of their wins will be in trot while training.

4. As soon as you have 20 wins, finish the training and keep going on rides to put the finishing touches on the skills. When the points from those start to sharply decrease, put a few races back in there. With patience, (or with Morpheus' Arms if you're impatient), you'll get your horse to 100 BLUP on or after its 10th birthday.

5. Your horse doesn't have to be fully trained in all skills to BLUP. It needs its 20 wins, and to be fully trained in all 3 of its best skills. Your horse will need to complete those 3 skills in 3 areas: training, races, and rides. If you're having a hard time blupping your horse after 20 wins, you've forgotten to collect the skill points in one or more of those areas.

Have fun, and happy blupping!
