Like the above poster said, it depends on your horse's skill. Here they are for each discipline, listed from the most important skill to the 3rd most important.

Showjumping: Jump, dressage, speed
Trot: Trot, speed, dressage
Gallop: Gallop, speed, dressage
Cross Country: Stamina, dressage, jump
Dressage: Dressage, trot, gallop
Barrel Racing: Speed, stamina, gallop
Cutting: Stamina, dressage, speed
Western Pleasure: Trot, stamina, dressage
Trail: Dressage, trot, jumping
Reining: Gallop, dressage, stamina
The best discipline depends on a horse's top skills, which are affected by their breed. Your best bet would be to search on the forums or the help center for your specific breed and find breed-specific guides
Every horse has three top skills when you look at them in the Genetics column. These skills determine the competition our horse will excel in. Western and English competitions include different combinations of these skills. If you choose the wrong specialty you can change it if the horse is still young.
