The main reasons players geld a horse is if it's top GP and they don't want other players to breed it to make use of the GP. Or if it's a skiller and they want the competition bonus.

If you don't care about breeding it, you don't want others to breed it should you choose to sell, or if you want the comp bonus. It's up to you
