94 morale every day even when bedded at the right time with 20+ energy, why isn't it 100?

If your horse is not in a big box they will wake up with lower morale.

From the EC manual 1.4:

Bigger boxes are more comfortable for your horses so they will wake up with their morale high.
94% morale is normal for a horse in a 1* box. 2* is either 96 or 98. I can't remember which but it's one of the 2 it's definitely between 94 and 100%. 3* is 100%. all you have to do to get them to 100% is groom them. that gives 6% morale.
It can be decreasing during the nght if there are still open competitions that your horse is in. Once the comp has run and your horse loses, it will also lose a bit morale.
Grooming it will bring morale back to 100%, and also mash and drinks can add. If your horse is boarded in an EC with shower and trough, morale will go up more when you give it drinks (I always recommend that for each horse).
If you give a horse a Helios' Ray (a background), it will always wake up with 100% morale.
