What does joining a team usually include? I want to and found several open for recruitment, but not sure what requirements there are.

If you find a team that is open for recruitment, I'd check their team page.
Each team has their own requierements, like fx being able to blup correctly, being able to do an X number of blups a week/month, having anough aging points and being able to maintain that (with an AP farm or so), have a good stock of BMI to pimp the horses, be willing to communicate quick and clear, need to use Discord for communication, and so on.
It will also tell you what the rewards will be to you if you join them or what they can assist you with.

Check the team page, it will tell you who to send your application to or who to ask questions about the team. And then send an application that tells them what you can add/bring to the team.
