Read the EC manual at the bottom of the main Help page.
Closely study the tabs on the EC page. They will tell you how to raise your prestige and keep it there. If you have a specific question, ask it in the game play forum.
Dont expect to make money from your EC boarders. You wont.
Buy meadows and grow crops and cows to start with to build your stock of mashes, fodder, oats and carrots for your boarders, and leather to craft things like saddles and bridles. Also to make yourself money by selling the leather (or the items whichever is more profitable) back to the store.
Only when you are fully stocked should you think about buying boxes. Buy the biggest and set them up with flax bedding (see why you need money and to have plenty of resources?).
Get your competitions going, you can ask for advice in the game play forum so people can see your progress and offer advice.
Dont overcharge. There are lots of ECs at 20e a night that are top class.
