In addition to the second answer about 1 more day: I think it has to be 30 FULL days, so that means the day you revive your Greyfell does not count.
I usually forget about them until Howrse sends me a notification that my Greyfell has died.

Tip: do NOT put a P Stone on a Greyfell, because that means they will never die anymore and you will not get any rewards.

Also good to know: after they die, you find them back in your Other Horses tab, not in the tab you put them in (if that was another tab than Other Horses).
If you just leave your Greyfell alone and never do anything with it, it definitely lives beyond the 30 days required to revive it and receive the rewards. I believe it's something around 34/35 days but since the item use history and the notifications only cover the last 30 days and mine passed recently, I can't do the exact math to give you a more precise answer. Regardless, leaving it alone will guarantee that it lives more than long enough for you to receive the rewards when it dies and is revived.
it's usually around 35-40 days. they lose 2-3% normally every day. an easy way to keep track of the 30 days if you want them to die sooner is as soon you revive them or get them new put them in an EC for 30 days. cheapest one is fine doesn't matter. when the board is up you know it's been 30 days. BUT you need to wait at least 1 more day. it's 30 days exactly or more not just after the update on the 30th day. Years ago someone couldn't figure out why their greyfell didn't give the rewards. thought they had waited like 30 days and 45 minutes. problem was daylight savings happened in those 30 days so it had been 29d 23h and 45m. the board just tells you when to wait 1 more day.
update to respond.

technically the 30th day does work BUT you have to make sure it's AFTER the exact time you did it 30 days ago. so if you did it at noon you can do it on day 30 as long as it's after noon but you have to keep track of the exact time so it's just easier to wait at least one day.
