I am new to the game and having difficulty with an objective of stroking another player's Xanthos. Any help is welcome

Go to "Directories," under "Community."
Make sure to select "Horses" instead of "Players" (which is the default).
Type in "Xanthos," check the "Show only special horses" box, and hit search.

Click on any of the Xanthos (Xanthi?) that show up, and you'll be taken to their public page.
On the left-hand side of the page, there is a column with two possible actions.
One of those is "Stroke." Click on that one.


Notes:
You can only stroke up to five of them per day.
Stroking a Xanthos gives you the chance to win a Horn of Plenty (so I recommend doing all five a day).
The first Xanthos you stroke each day gives 10 energy points to your most recently born horse.
If you own a Xanthos, you get 200 Equus from him when you log in the first time each day.

To add: you can also stroke your own Xanthos if you own one, he may give you the HoP + 1000 equus too like all the others.
Also note that the Directories are spelling and capital sensitive, so make sure to spell Xanthos name correctly (or copy-paste it from here).

There are 3 other community horses:
* you can congratulate 5x Topaz a day (equus or when you're lucky, 10 passes)
* defrost 1x Frost (maybe a Hypnos' Blanket + the very very tiny chance to win Frost the next month)
* and 1x Archimedes: you answer his question, and for a right answer you get an aging point. Most answers can be googled.
