No, that mechanic was done away with a few years ago. Now you have daily objectives instead to earn passes. If you have old horses and they die, they contribute their age to Yggdrasil. Reach certain age milestones with Yggdrasil to get some rewards. To get Yggdrasil (if you don't have one already) just send one horse 25+ to heaven and you will get Yggdrasil.
No pass horses were removed a while ago. Now you will get the Divine horse Yggdrasil, and he will age with every horse sent to Heaven after the age of 25, and offers prizes at certain ages.
