Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

I filled a lot of your comps from both my account and Lolly's through co, but somehow our fillers beat your blup? Which is weird because your horse has vastly higher skills. You must have entered the comps while your blup had a health or morale less than 100%, because I can't think of any other reason as to why that would occur.

I'm only missing several, I entered over thirty. default smiley xd There was a time when I made an oopsy and forgot to feed it grain, resulting in it being underweight and at 87% health for a while. She is good now, though.default smiley :)

Thanks for filling!

Oh yeah, not quite sure if this belongs here, but if you enter a horse with lower than 100 health then get it up afterward, does it still affect the horse's perfermance?

If the horse has low health the moment it's entered to the competition, then yes.

thoughts?

Personally, I'm pretty happy with her. If I'm not mistaken, by the time she's fully trained she'll be the number 1 Akhal in jump: )

Honestly, she's set up for XC but you will need to be very watchful of her Stamina. GVs dominate XC at the moment. So try keeping it as low as possible with Jump and Dressage at a good height so she'll avoid the top horses.

If she wasn't already mine, I would, too. I've never had a horse so good at those certain types of comps. default smiley (7)

Amazing work!
Alright, someone suggested adding some GV to my paint, and I was wondering if doing GV x paint x Gackney or some trotting breed would work, and then breeding back to paint? I think I'm going to work mainly on paint crosses now.

Nice cross! Reining and WP would be your best bet.

Any thoughts on what he'd be good at? I've just started cross breeding some and I'm not sure whether he'd be best in western or classical comps.

I did it! I finally did my first cross.

I went for a Knab/Nokota cross for trail comps. Hopefully it will do well.

Any tips or suggestions?

He'd probably be best at cross country. I found helpful info here:http://thebookofhowrse.weebly.com/classical-vs-western.html

on what skills are needed for different comps. Hope it helps!

Are you sure that's the right horse? It goes to a foundation Knabstrupper.
