Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

@best thanks! I adore my Lusi/Fry twins; they give me fantastic dressage crosses, 8D

@Horses R My Life no problem! the Mustang/Paint/QH in him points at barrels so there's hope yet!

And now I wanna try a Mustang/Mar cross, what with that high gallop and Mustangs and Mars being the reverse of each other in stamina/speed and all. Goodness knows I need another foal to look after, default smiley xd

@horses r my life- cross country so far all i have is a pure arab and she does well so part arab works
Try paint as they are very good for speed, but having a paint dominant with high stamina is you want to comp them is not a great cross aside from crosscountry. An arab dominant arabxpaint is normally very good as the speed in Arabs is quite low so the boost gives you and advantage in breed only comps

So the other dsay I bought I high GP arab for breed ing and I thought why don't I have a go at cross breeding and I was wondering as I bred Friesian's would I be able to cross the arab with a good Frisian and get a Friesian and breed that one with a Friesian and keep breeding the daughters woith high GP Friesian and would I eventually get a high GP purebred Friesian?
Is anyone going to yell at me for being nice here?

I hope not.

Well, I have to go BLUP horses.....and do foal games.

Wolf if the stallion is a Friesian to start off with in the first 50/50 cross then yes you would get a Friesian. However you would never get back to a purebred Friesian as Howrse changed the way the game works so it is no longer possible to crossbreed a horse then breed it back to purebred. There would always be 1% of the other breed left in.

Svu is my best cross yet out of my lines. I plan on bolting him after covering a few mares to get some extra $$$. Before that, though, all his skills must be bolder and his BLauP +100. I'm excited =D

maverickrules00 - Thank you, I like having a well-round horse

I plan on breeding him/her to a Hackney, then a Lusitano, then Peruvian Paso, then a Standardbred to get the trot and speed up.
By Retired breeder, 21st November 2011 03:30:35
@Xello yep she's an EC booster, :3 Will do that as soon as she's done.

Now that I'm home I'm gonna finish bolding her up and then it's time for lessons, default smiley xd

Just bred a Teared Standie/Lusi/Fry colt. Trying to decide which breed I want to cross my Fry/Lusi mare with next. Maybe a TB? And then maybe back to a Lusi, or maybe an Arab...
By Retired breeder, 21st November 2011 04:59:46
Not sure how this foal came out with more stars than either parent. I like what I see so I'm gonna try the cross again but with Tears this time.
By Retired breeder, 21st November 2011 05:27:13
That is a nice foal Fifth. Should be wonderful at barrels right?
