Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Hey! This forum is C. O. O. L! COOL! Anyway, back to the point. I bred a half mawari half spanish purebred horse with a mustang and it came out with a bay foal that had 29 stars! It looks like a mawari but then that depends on its mother and fathers blood lines! PLEASE TRY! Isnt this sad, I made up a little name for it! It was The Spanish Mastang. Well, that was all I had to say really, except if anyone who is starting out crossbreeding can PM me for any horses or stallions... please don't think that's advertising, I just want to help begginers!default smiley :( Well.... this is goodbye!default smiley :'(

JUST KIDDING! I'll be back! Arn't I so random? You don't have think I am! please don't say anything bad about my message, I'm just being me! See ya!

Just wasted a Tears on a Lusi/Fry foal that's a downgrade rather than an upgrade. Even worse, the Tears was meant for a purebred TB but I forgot and just bred my mare anyway. Today is not a good day for me, default smiley xd

That was unnecessary sugar224. All we needed to know was your cross.

Aww that sucks Fifth! Was it a decent foal?

@best well the sire's the dam's son, so there's a bit of inbreeding going on. I suppose it's not surprising that the foal doesn't have as good a skill set as his sire's. I just don't want to waste time skilling him when I'm not even done with the dad. Thinking of bolting my other Lusi/Arab/Fry colt and breeding those two instead.

Actually, I should just stop breeding foals for a while and focus on skilling/BLUPping the ones I already have, default smiley xd

Not the link we need Daniel.
Nearly finished him may attempt gallop leaderboard with him as he has hit top 300 in gallop and trot race wins quite easily

winstin, I would leave Trot and train else where to gain more skills and he should do well in trot comps.

I have this great rescue Sunny Day (in my nursery tab) that's just goergeous, and I was wondering:

How many equus should I charge for a covering?
I'm going to BLUP him (and maybye bold him too), but I'm not sure. Should I only do private coverings, or should do a few public coverings too???

You should focus on BLUPping him first, so that if you do offer coverings they'll be quality ones.
yay! my cross has moved to twelth place conmara better be watching out
Q: if you breed with a friesian + any horse is it most likley to be a fresian?

I am looking for some high GP, well rounded crosses without Friesian blood because all of mine have Friesian in them. Does anybody have any fillies for sale? Or stallies for coverings? I am looking for 1200+ genetics with good jumping and speed but that are also crossbreds.

Sorry for the last post. I know we cannot advertise looking for... MY BAD. I am having trouble limiting the Friesian influence and keeping the trot up- any suggestions? (I hope this is a better entry for this forum)

Lusitano and Standardbred are decent alternatives for limiting Friesian influence while keeping trot high. I rarely sell my horses without BLUPing them first any more, but you can look through my 100 BLUP tabs and my Grand Prix tab to see if there is a stallion there you'd like to cross with one of your mares.

Hey guys since skilling of my NIB cross program is so slow(I'm saving aging points for when I finally breed the mares) I decided to try to get an epic dressage comp horse. So I decided to go QHxStandie...but as I've been training the breeding pair I remembered that both those breeds have high dressage and will lower each others trot/gallop...so I'm going to try a 4 way cross...now heres my question are their any breeds with high trot but low dressage? Or at least dressage isn't one of their top skills but trot is? I'm going to continue to see if I can find one but no luck yet

Final Destination

ugh..... its taking forever to BLUP her! I put a Hera Pack on her and I plan on breeding her a TB stally..... I bred my Arab mare to a stupid PSH stally that didnt have full BLUP which irritated me..... and I sold the foal because he had bad IBS.... bleg...
