Advent Calendar of 2019 is here!

Do you like counting down to Christmas? Like getting free gifts? It’s the start of the Holiday season, and with it comes our Advent Calendar!

Just open a new window every day to receive presents! Missed a day?

Don’t fret, you can still open the window. Though, it will cost you some equus, and the amount you’ll pay will increase with each belated opening.

You may not want to miss Sundays! Sundays during the holidays are very special days. If you’re really, really lucky you just might find a special horse in the calendar.

Psst: Check out the mini-games on our Facebook page.

Happy Holidays,

The Howrse Team

I get the "its free stuff" but when some people have 20+ and they don't use it.. yeah sorry in real life is someone gave me the same shirt that I have 10, or the same movie or book... like thanks for the gift I appreciate but what does one use with that many of so many things. At least in real life I can regift or return because I don't know anyone who keeps that many multiples of the same thing, especially if they aren't using them. It's a free gift sure, but we should at least have options to trade or sell them.

You can put it on a random unwanted horse and sell it for up to 20 passes or up to 80,000 Equus. A little less for a faster sale. A little more for rare coat colors, unicorns, Pegasus, etc... It might not be glamorous, but it's still a decent reward, given the fact that it's free, and it required no effort whatsoever to get. Most promotions require at least a little more effort than a single click.

Advent calendars in real life do not contain wonderful gifts or even the chance of them. They are supposed to be just little marks of the progression to Christmas. When I was young, many, many years ago all you found in your advent calendar was a picture of a snowman or a robin. We still got excited about opening it.

You never got anything fun in Advent Calendars? Wow, in all I've ever had you usually get candy or little gifts, something at least. Man, I always have and still do. Heck, people make their own now and put in little fun gifts default smiley ^)

I don't have any unwanted horses right now. Fortunately, I only have two as well, but I see others have like 20+. I'm mostly fine with the rest of the gifts too, all useful to me at some point. I do get the other points from players who have been here a while. This account is new, but I used to play waaaay back when on the original horse. As time went on basic BMI's were so easy to obtain from events and you slap them on all your horses and the game was boring after a while. I still get some at a decent rate, but I feel it has gotten better over time at least there.

I didn't get anything special which goes along with my secret santa gift. I guess others got good stuff from theirs but since I didn't expect it there's nothing to complain about.

You can purchase a horse for less than 5,000 Equus, put the VA on it, then flip it for 80,000 Equus. 60,000 Equus for an instant sale. 80,000 Equus to sell within a week or so. Still a profit of some kind.

I've also been playing, on and off, for about a decade, and yes, there's been a lot of changes, some good, some bad, and yes, it used to be easier/less expensive to get "good" prizes in events, but at the same time, events happened once every couple of months, not once every three weeks. Things are different now. It's just how it is.

The item I received was worth less than half of the item I gave. I don't care, it's no big deal, but I'm waiting to see how everybody reacts. LOL

I still think that price ranges would be a nice addition for future editions of the Secret Santa, because some people go into this wanting to make the recipient of their gift as happy as possible in the holiday season not caring what they get in return, and some people go into this trying to get rid of unwanted items, or trying to get something better in exchange for the cheapest item in their stock. They view it as they got a great deal instead of they disappointed somebody yet they were pleasantly surprised or even overjoyed in return. Another note, there's normally price ranges incorporated into real life versions of the Secret Santa, or at the very least price limits, to ensure that everybody's gifts are of relatively equal value, or at the very least, not too terribly expensive. That way nobody's giving away a few dollars worth of gifts, or random things they found around their house that they don't want, but getting a brand new iPhone in return.

That's what I said yes.

That being said, people really just buy any old horse for 80k?

Horses with VA's go for between 60,000 Equus and 100,000 Equus, more or less depending on how rare the coat is, if it has a horn or wings...

The cheapest one right now is 70,000 Equus. There's only eight for less than 80,000 Equus. And there's less than a page full for less than 100,00 Equus.

Many players collect VA's, especially rare coats.

I'm the one that literally just threw something random because they wanted the treats on offer for doing it, so I personally don't even know what I threw. default smiley xd

The price range is a nice idea, but then there would be higher possibility to get the same item that you gave, which is less fun :<
Also let's appreciate those people with low seniority accounts, who had given something more expensive. I mean - the are giving away something valuable for them and that's a really awesome gesture ^^ On my main server I've got a HR from the person with only 17 seniority days and I feel great about it default smiley :-))

About the Calendar... I've missed some days and now the price for opening next window reaches 16,000 and I still have 5 to open... I think that it's not worth opening for me, so I'll have to leave it like this :s

Okay so I can't find the advent calender to open my present for the last day? Did I miss it or are there to many reindeer links in the way to get to it?

That's dumb. Then why did they post a news message today saying the last present was open today?

I'd like to see better gifts in the Advent calendar. In the past, we've gotten some better gifts that were more useful. I'm also not a fan of the VA. I'd much rather have a GA.

@Orchid

Thank you! It was showing on my side that it was posted yesterday instead of the day before, that's why I was so confused.

Also, I am rather frustrated because I kept getting those "There's a possibility of getting good stuff or a divine" messages whenever I would go to the event calendar, but I never got one of those boxes and I am kind of peeved about that??? I opened all of them on the day of the event except maybe one, so what was that about? Also, all the stuff that I got was... Subpar, especially because last year I actually got some good BM items, this year it was always flax seeds or carrots, maybe some candy for an event I don't really care about. Very disappointing.

only a very few lucky players win the divine and the rest of the gifts are the same for everyone. We don't get them on the same days but, at the end, we've all received the same collection of gifts.
