Thanks Howrse!
Quick question regarding landscapes: I've taken some beautiful photographs before. Is it okay for me to base my drawings off of these? I'm not going to merely edit a picture to make it look drawn, of course! ![]() |
Thanks Howrse! Quick question regarding landscapes: I've taken some beautiful photographs before. Is it okay for me to base my drawings off of these? I'm not going to merely edit a picture to make it look drawn, of course! It is okay to use pictures as references, but always make sure you have permission of the owner of the pictures before you use them. Since you made the photographs yourself, it is perfectly alright! |

I have a question about programs. What programs are the best to use that is compatible with Howrse and is free or really cheap? (I know hard to find something that's good but also free too. But it's worth a shot)

I have a question about programs. What programs are the best to use that is compatible with Howrse and is free or really cheap? (I know hard to find something that's good but also free too. But it's worth a shot) Krita GIMP Fire Alpaca Medibang Pro (those are all free programs) Then we have Paintstorm studio (I use it sometimes) that is really REALLY cheap, and have nice, paintery painting style. ![]() ![]()

![]() How can I improve this? (I accidentally blended it with the wet brush too much, I'm also afraid that the proportions arent correct, this is not the finished result but can I get some critique? ![]()

![]() How can I improve this? (I accidentally blended it with the wet brush too much, I'm also afraid that the proportions arent correct, this is not the finished result but can I get some critique? Yep,too much wet brush here, but easily fixed. Just take hard brush (I take it you use paintstrom studio?), low opacity, and shadows/light in areas where either shadows or light are this soft. You have pretty good understanding of where shadows and light goes, at least to my unexperienced eyes XD Here, redlined for ya ![]() (you can ignore the head-redlines if you are making a donkey, and ignore the blue colour that is harsh/sharp shadows XD) Click to display ![]() ![]()

I use Krita, and I wasn't concerned about the shadows, thats the last thing I will add, I was scared that the proportions wouldn't be correct thank you though, its really kind of you to help me

Quick question about the templates, does your art have to be within the black lines? Or can your art just have to fit within a 400 X 400 format?
Also anyone have any suggestions? I dont know if I will be changing it or just work on a different wip. [img= https://preview.ibb.co/bYUyDG/Attachment_1_2.png] |
Quick Question-
If I buy the black pearl now, does that mean I have to use it right when I buy it? (like you have to do with the HoP) ![]()

Quick Question- If I buy the black pearl now, does that mean I have to use it right when I buy it? (like you have to do with the HoP) Its impossible to buy black pearl and stock it in inventory. Black Pearl works more like a window; when it opens, you can send items through the window to the other side, as far you can pay for it. When it closes, you cant send in items anymore. ![]()
|
OK! Thanks for the answer. I figured that was probably the case.

does your art have to be within the black lines? Or can your art just have to fit within a 400 X 400 format? You have to keep the grey-black outside border of the official template on the picture. And the picture needs to be inside those borders. Also, make sure not to change anything about those borders, putting them at the top layer should work best for that. ![]() ![]()
|
oh does anyone know what the size of the shape inside the border is then? im on a tricky program to resize my art on lol.
|
Never mind I got it

![]() I decided to abandon the other sketch for now and to start working on this one, however I'd like to mention that this isnt the final coloring, I'd like some criticism if possible thank you ![]() ![]()

Can anyone clarify, would I be able to base a coat off a fictional horse? Such as one from a video game?

Can anyone clarify, would I be able to base a coat off a fictional horse? Such as one from a video game? unless you have permission from the artist, I would think that would come under the no plagiarism rule. ![]()

Can anyone clarify, would I be able to base a coat off a fictional horse? Such as one from a video game? It says on the Black Pearl page; "The drawing must not be fan art (fan art is a creation that takes inspiration from a movie, cartoon or manga representing or referring to a character created by another person)" so I figure that's a no? ![]()

Can anyone clarify, would I be able to base a coat off a fictional horse? Such as one from a video game? No you cant. Breaks cophyright and ends up under the cathegory of fanart, with is not allowed. ![]()
|
Does it cost 10 passes to send a coat/ladnscape through? I'm a bit confused on that...
