I wish Horse would just stop sometimes. Stop and smell the roses and enjoy what it has for longer.

I can honestly say if these new changes come into place I'm only going to log in now and then to keep my account open and that's it. The quality of game play just keeps going down default smiley :(

I agree. I get the whole 'they have to make profit' thing but Ubisoft already gets plenty of money from their countless other games and franchises. This one not being the biggest will NOT effect their overall profit in the slightest. However, losing this game more than they already have and potentially ending the entire community (forfeiting the game itself) could go down as a major fail in Ubisofts career for online gaming.

I say this because Howrse is advertised correctly as the number one online horse RPG (forgive me if I have the category wrong, I've been up since 4 A.M.), and even though they've put in a hand with some other reputable online games successfully, they are running this one. Let's say Ubisoft does lose Howrse amongst all this. Its already a ghost town compared to what it used to be. The players that's already left will probably have something to say, and the ones still here will definitely have their fair share of giving their 2 cents on it. Chances are, gaming media will latch onto the failure and potentially hurt Ubisofts career. Being negatively targeted by media is never good, especially for a business. Even though the company probably won't be crippled by an event like that, it will hurt them.

It's a simple fact in gaming that your players are your income and your success. Dare I say it but look at No Man's Sky for example. (For the record I love the game!) In all honesty, it was incomplete when initially released and Sean really over-hyped it all. So, big disappointment. Foundation Update hits, entirely new game. Some players returned, many still dissed the game for the simple fact that it seemed cool. Updates happened, then Atlas Rises hits (might have the wrong name), again it's a completely new game. That's where I stopped playing. People still diss the game for fun but Sean owned up to the game not being ready but that impression of failure is still there. He has literally redefined gaming and is STILL out down! My point? Your players do make your game, no matter how big or small and even if you make up for it.

Moving on, Ubisoft has proven they don't like to put customer service very high. Everyone knows what I'm talking about so I'm not going into detail. This is the biggest thing hurting the game right now from my standing. I'm not against Ubisoft, I play other games by the company and I'm happy with it. Laugh if you want but I still play LPS for example. Ubisoft is awesome at making games, but their customer service downgrades what the company is. Making monumental changes like the monetary change has potential to be the final blow for the biggest part of the community.

Warning- that's a really long post. Here's a summary!

I'm really happy and impressed the pass changes are staying in testing for so long. Especially in such detail of information for the players. This is a big risk for the game but will hopefully turn out the way that will benefit the players and the company.

With you on the customer service Rattler. I wish I could sit them all down and get them to read Richard Branson's books. Sure, him and Virgin aren't perfect, but... I much prefer travelling by Virgin trains in the UK, and when I can I even pay to upgrade and travel first. They get that bit extra money from me because it's worth it. Most UK trains first is a joke: a cloth on the seat saying 1st and maybe a bit less crowded! Cup of tea if you are very lucky. Virgin you get big comfy seats, lovely, friendly staff going back and forth with snacks and drinks and food. Not a full meal... but a few times I've had seconds when they've had it to spare and have had a full meal! Lounges at the stations with more free snacks and drinks... With a sense of humour too. There's an announcement in the disabled loos that's hilarious (really, lol). Not sure if they still do, but they used to have the salt cellars printed with 'stolen from Virgin Trains'. How's that for clever? Turn stealing into advertising!

Today I'm alternating with Howrse and another game. After spending 6 passes last weekend the reduction in the amounts of eggs and sugar has meant I've now pretty much given up on getting Fairy Cake. It's not worth risking pass horses above my 10 certain for the month, though I have got more. Can't face the clicking and letting go of some I'm attached to for no definite reward. Not even sure I'm going to bother getting Cupcake now. And last week I was thinking I'd maybe get into collecting that set since they are first new set since I joined. Way to shoot yourself in the foot just by being a bit stingy with the freebies Howrse...

On the other game: I'm also playing a promo. True, it's full of chances to spend real money. But.. you never feel you can't advance without it. I know from past experience that I'll be able to get the top promo prizes just by working at it. Afterwards there will also be a chance to double some of my prizes. Which I will probably be able to afford using currency I've made in-game.

So, three companies: which do you think I'm telling people about, and advertising? Which do I feel better about spending money on?

I was just wondering if there was any info on how the new and 'improved' economy changes were going to affect pass horses (Those are still on this server, correct?) and the free pass you get.

Thank you so much if you can answer this!

So many times on this forum recently I've been eager to say something, and have held back every time. Here we go!!!

Click to display
I found it really interesting to read the long list of tested changes a few pages back after following this issue and all the speculation over the past few weeks! I think howrse knows that the pass/currency changes are widely disapproved of, because they're throwing it in with a bunch of good changes that players have been asking for, to try and keep everyone happy... I'm not sure that'll work. I've been around for 11 years and seen many shocking changes that have really riled up the community, and most have turned out to be no big deal. For example, when they changed from the very first (v.1) graphics to the ones where every breed looked exactly the same just different sizes, people went nuts and I'm sure people were dropping out of game play. This time feels different for me, and I'm not sure how I'm going to react once it happens. The currency changes affect everyones game play, and I can't help but feel like they are targeting everyones confusion during the adjustment period to sell more passes. When passes are represented by hundreds and thousands, it will feel way more easy to spend them in percentages that we wouldn't in todays currency. I'm not really excited to get used to a whole new economy and assignment of values to so many things on the game, but I guess only time will tell how it plays out for us individually. It's a bummer that it seems like only company/profit interests are taken into consideration and not the players, but I can't really say I'm surprised. I'm really hoping for the best and trying to leave my faith in the ambassadors and testers whose feedback is most directly taken into account! Also thanks to everyone who's been posting in this forum all along, for helping the rest of us see sides to the issues everyone is talking about that we might not otherwise have considered.

There are no promo codes. The last ones were found by players using the App game Etria, which has now ended, and gave them divines on this game. They were specific to the players, and would not work if shared with others. The last codes released for items for this game were also coded as single use only, and for the players who won/purchased them only.

as I understand it, the Emma's (hopefully the right name...) competitions are only non-divine competitions
maybe I am the only one, but I have never had a problem finding competitions for my "regular horses (except for no being able to find competitions that give ribbons)
my problem has been with Divine Horses - any whisperings about a solution there? default smiley (8)

on smaller servers where they do often run out of competitions while blupping. I too mostly run out of comps with my divines. We've submitted feedback relating to divine comps too as it's been a problem for a while now. There is nothing official about divine comps on this test session, but hopefully in the future we'll have something.

Before the new tutorial was introduced (as Emma is part of the new player tutorial), there was a community poll that consisted of 3 different names. "Hannah" was another I think, and I can't remember what the 3rd choice was. Players could choose their preferred name for the new player instructor and "Emma" had the most votes.

We'll still have pass horses, and will work the same although the amount of passes they give you converts with the new pass system. You'll get 100 new passes instead of 1. Same for the Loyal Player's Pass. That works the same but we'll get 100 new passes for it instead of 1.

It usually goes up the week after the first wave opens, so Tuesday or Wednesday maybe?

We haven't been able to test this feature directly yet, bu this is the information we have:
Every time you open a luck item when there is an active offer, you get “divine dust” if the divine horse doesn’t show up. You can see how much you progress in a gauge. Once it is full, you have the guarantee to get the divine.

If you win the divine before the gauge is full, the dust disappears.

The dust also disappears when the promo is over (i.e. it cannot be cumulated for the next promo).

Note: you can only win the divine once with the divine dust. There won’t be anymore divine dust if you open more luck items and try your luck for a second divine in the offer."

It's basically a safety net and you'll get dust every time you open a luck item and don't find the divine. This all we know right now for the most part. We don't know exactly how we get the divine once the gauge is full(if we'll still have to buy it with X passes, if it's given automatically, etc.), or how many luck items it could take to fill the gauge with dust
