Worth noting that I also never personally called you or anyone else "greedy" in my first response, (the word wasn't even in that post) I literally just gave my reasons as to why I disagreed with such a short timer.

It’s just to make it fairer for everybody, not just a minority which may have faster internet, or superhuman reflexes to quickly click a buy button multiple times. I’m not kidding when I say i didn’t even have a chance to read the divine names on the screen before they were all snatched up last year, the only way I was able to get one was by clicking and buying one at random as soon as they popped up.

This change/restriction probably will be viewed negatively by some, because they can’t get all of the divines they want. I’d love to grab every divine I’m after too, but I’d personally be happy with just one of them on my wish list if it meant giving a better chance for more players to get one too.

Put beautifully. default smiley (l) Sadly, people will probably see this negatively purely because of being restricted, but for those that missed out last year and want a chance at a divine, this change will be welcomed, as it should be. If this is to work like normal promo sales it will probably be one added every few minutes to each sale, with slightly less to the auction if people are battling it out and space can't be cleared; that's why a really short timer wouldn't work, as as soon as one it bought and another is added, the timer would probably be up, allowing that same person from before to claim in.

I'm personally going to observe for the first hours, unless something I really want comes up, of which I will attempt to buy it. I think part of the irritation could be because people currently don't know how often they will come up, as it could be hourly, or it could be completely like the promos with a much smaller quantity, which is causing a bit of tension as a result.

My only problem with this limitation (a part of me would want a smaller time limit because I... usually sleep at night... but I think most people thinks so, too.) is that it accounts ONE and ONE type of purchases.
I would have preferred if they put a 2 horses limit from WHEREVER.

So, for example, if I'm short on funds I can just try my hand at direct sales twice instead of praying somebody doesn't outbid me.
On the other hand, if my internet is sluggish, I can try my hand at the auctions, since those have a THIRTY SECONDS delay.

But that's just me, probably. default smiley :p

You weren't the one who said greedy first, but as I put in the beginning of my response post, I responded to both of you.

I'd be inclined to accept your apology, if not for the fact that you pretended you did not call me greedy. I was the only person suggesting a shorter timer in my first post. And you, quoting my greedy post, said "But, if you want my honest opinion, it IS greedy to want such a short timer."

You can disagree with me, that's fine. We fundamentally want different things out of this event. I want more opportunity individually for everyone, like in the first one. You want more opportunity for everyone collectively. And in my responses I only sought to figure out how everyone can compromise - because there was no timer at all last time. And talking to the opposite side shows me what the concerns are and lets me think how can I think of ways to address those concerns while still being able to win a little for myself as well?

In your second response, and in another's initial one, however you feel the need to label me and/or others as greedy. I didn't label anyone based off what they could stand to get. I could, but I'm not trying to be rude. You didn't mean it in a non-offensive way.

But go ahead and pretend like taking my exact idea, the only one who said it, and calling someone wanting that greedy, was not totally targeted at me and wasn't completely rude.

Either way, I'm done. And like I said, just keep on being rude if that's how you want to be,

And also, having money/patience to build resources and then spend them does NOT make a player "greedy." We work hard for what we get, no matter how we got it. And we don't deserve to be talked down about, generally or otherwise, just because something comes around where we can use our hard earned resources to our advantage.

I honestly agree with this. I don't think we should limit other people that have worked hard for their resources and deserve to invest them in whatever they choose to (just like everyone else), as much as Howrse should make it so that there are enough divines so that no one feels like certain people should have a purchase limit. If that player doesn't buy the divine, another will. If we are to think it as ''oh, but that poor player with slow internet will never have a chance'' then no one should buy anything because there'll always be some ''poorer'' player that needs it more. You all are acting like you wouldn't take advantage of a good offer if you could.

It would all be solved by reserved sales, but that wouldn't be in the spirit of Black Friday I guess. By doing it this way though, Howrse knowingly puts the players against each other and tensions are bound to rise. Putting a 12 hour timer isn't in the Black Friday spirit either, so at this point they could use reserved sales but whatever.

A compromise could be something like a 4 hour timer. A timer that lasts a few minutes has no logical sense as you can jump right in straight away. But 4 hours still allow for everyone to buy quite a few divines while also rendering the competition for resources a little less fierce.

A suggest I and some offer people suggested last year was to put up random personal reserved offers up each hour at random and keep them there for a few minutes, which would not have put player against player and allowed each player to pick if they wanted it if they were checking in. If this event happens next year I would honestly love to see it tried, it would probably stop the anxiety and possible tension that comes with it, as it wouldn't be player against player any more.

I personally don't have a problem with how they did it last year. I am also sad that there is a 12 hour timer, BUT 12 divines across the whole event is still a lot of divines. I know some people last year were just buying divines regardless of if they wanted them or not and ended up with tons, so hopefully these changes make it more inclusive for everyone to pick up something they really want.

Honestly, my problem with how it was run last year was that you didn't have the chance to even see what you were buying, especially with the equus offers, due to it being a blink and you miss situation. I am crossing my fingers that they will have a list at the bottom so that people can check out all the divines and then decide what to aim for.

The thing is, no one will get 12 divines unless they log in right when the event starts, buys the very first 2 divines available, then continues to buy the very first 2 divines available once the 12 hours are up. People are more likely to bide their time and wait for something they really want, which will mean no one will get 12 unless they don't really care about what they buy as long as they buy something.

I have one divine I want and, if it'll end up being present in the event, I know I won't buy anything else until I have that one so I don't risk losing out on it. If more people behave that way they'll only be able to get a couple of divines out of this event, if any.

I was fortunate enough to somehow have quick internet so could see what i was buying, but i can understand how unbelievably frustrating it'd be to sit there refreshing, just to miss them anyway.

That's very true. I'm not even aiming for divines i don't have. I'm just limiting my purchases to rainbows and winds.

I think it'll be like a classic Flash Sale situation, where you have a HARD timer whether you use it or not.
So if you buy something... say, at 9.59 pm, at 10 pm you'll have a new slot. So if you don't use it, it's gone. default smiley :)

Oh, that's... interesting. We'll have to see how they interpret the "12 hours" then.

I was personally thinking along the lines that the timer was going to work like it's 12 hours since you last purchased, so if you purchase at 10 am from the direct, the next time you can buy from the direct was 10 pm.

I don't think wanting to get lots of divines makes you an evil person. However, wanting to get every divine you can even if it means others lose out does sound like you don't care if others lose out.

I've no doubt Howrse have a pretty good idea how many divines they want to sell, and how much for. It's not a limitless pool

Last year people who had worked hard for passes/equus didn't manage to get any divines while others walked away with 20-40. It's not like the people missing out were somehow less worthy or had worked less hard. I also doubt Howrse wanted to sell anyone 20 divines 'cheap'.

This year (hopefully) some people will buy more than others, according to how much they have to spend. But more people will have a chance to get something. Hopefully Howrse have got the balance right this time. I think at least they have got it better.

I think Nalu might be right: It's usually according to updates rather than actual time from your purchase. So it would make sense if it were 12 hour slots.

Hard timers are generally easier to manage to make it fair, so that you don't "miss out" if the Divine you want doesn't show up in the first 5 minutes, also because people need their Zs sometime during these 3 days default smiley xd

There were two divines revealed on the stories for Black Friday, one of them was Hela, I think she was already annouced, and another one was green Greyfell

They're recycling the same two divines all over Twitter, too.
I feel like they don't REALLY want to tease us anything serious, there's nothing appetizing there default smiley xd

I planned to get divines on much smaller server than this one and I hoped that I would snatch an equus divine (Shenma is the most wanted of all) but now that there will be flash sales and probably equus divines in the auction I have little to zero hope. Because in direct sales the faster aways wins and in auction richer always wins. Before my 3 millions would get me 4+ divines (if I snatched them of course) but now it's nothing against a 52 million player in the auctions. I never even try when there are divines in auctios because I know that I won't win. But maybe the restrictions will save me and I will get at least one divine. Good luck to everybody!

They need to add in a new divine in each player's reserved sales for Back Friday. Maybe a different one each day. Doesn't even have to be for equus.
Then the flash sales will be viewed more as 'bonus' divines to purchase during BF and maybe people won't complain about missing any.

Actaully it was surprisingly hard to get a divine on a "small" server as well. I tried last year on the swedish server (I have my main account there) and I didn't even get a chance to see what divine it was until it was gone. Yet the swedish server only has like 12,000 players.
