I'm not too worried about prices, gonna stock up on passes and equus this week, but I'm curious to if one of each of the advertised divines will be up or if there's gonna be multiple of each, like 1o of each type?

I'd read a little past that message if I were you, they responded to the same question already:
roadrunner wrote:

I think they were around 1k- 2k passes; most of them

Balios and croesus were something like 6- 8k passes. Something like that
and the ones for equus were around 500k

idk someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Flash sales it is! Very hopeful that this will make it a lot fairer on everybody this time round. I felt bad for those that were unable to grab any last time. I'd recommend people save up some passes and equus for the upcoming sale default smiley (ow)default smiley (l)

This is a very dumb question, but it's been a long week and my brain isn't working like it should.

What is the difference between flash sales and the way they did it last year with putting up new Divines every hour (or maybe every couple of hours, I can't remember)?

Last year, they were placed into the direct sales every hour, for equus and passes with only a handful of them every release, not enough for everyone to grab one by any means, and they are gone in literal seconds. You didn't even have the time to read what their names were before buying them.

It was pot luck, spend 2k passes on a divine of any kind just so you could grab one before others did, and then hope it was a decent one you managed to pick up. It just wasn't practical.

I'm hoping with it being flash sales, that this time it might make it easier for people to get one, as they MIGHT have put a restriction on the amount of divines you can buy in an allotted time. (I still don't know for certain if they have done this, or just put it on a flash page to make it easier to grab them than mixed in with regular horse sales, or what) but it does sound like itll be a lot smoother than it once was at least.

sorry if im not the best at explaining things. and it wasnt a dumb question default smiley :)

The difference is that they're not in normal sales, mixing with regular people and messing up the hourly rush.
Also, dedicated flash sales have an always-going-on timer, and don't simply drop 50 horses in sales at .00 o'clock default smiley :)

I sure hope there will be a restriction, would be incredibly annoyed if there wasn't and peoples with thousands upon thousands of passes could just take the lion's share.

Yes, I completely agree with you.

though I have a bad feeling they haven't put a restriction in place. Just the fact that seeing a countdown to the next divine to pop up in a direct flash sale, might be their view of being 'fair'.... I guess we will all find out when the time comes. I do hope my feeling is proven wrong though.

I'm hoping the schedule will at least be somewhat structured. Last year's hourly release (which was more like a 5-10 minute issue window every hour) was a nice way to plan when to pull up the sales page.

Excluding purchasing limits, I quite dislike the Flash Sales format, and avoid it whenever possible. Checking all the time until a countdown of something you want finally shows up, and my mouse never stays in the same spot when I refresh the page. I'm guessing because the newer sales offset the stagnant ones in the list and everything shifts a bit. And best make sure you don't accidentally place a bid on the wrong auction, otherwise you're locked out of the others until someone outbids you!

Agreed @Legacy Ann

I think the counter down will only leave to more chaos.(personally) And it goes back to the argument with internet. I mean its all a wait and see.
But flash sales have always felt too agressive and competive for me.

I personally wouldn't mind if there was no restrictions on the auctions and let them battle it out, but on the direct sales it should work like standard promo offers, where you can buy one every x days, so one through direct each day.

Which translates to:

To give everybody a chance, you can purchase ONE Divine through the Direct sales and ONE through the auctions every 12 hours. This means you can get 12 Divines total, if you're strategic about it and lucky.
ATTENTION! The number of divines available is limited.

This is such a relief, while people may be able to get more than others, at least there is a restriction. Now all we need an idea on is the pricing for the direct sales so that we can properly prepare.

Ahhh phew, my bad feeling was proven wrong. Thank goodness its fairer this time round default smiley :d I'm excited. I know I won't win in equus auction bids but im super happy to be able to get them from direct, and a restriction will really help with that. Best way to prevent the greedy grabbers default smiley xd

Not happy about that.

Specifically, there are divines I like, and divines I'll go broke for. I would hate to pass up on a divine I'd like waiting on a divine I'd love that doesn't come. And I'd hate to buy a divine I like, only to see later a divine I love and now can't get.

A small 5-10 minute max timer between purchases would be better suited. Unless we're going to know everything coming within 12 hours it just means you could lose out somewhere else.

I strongly disagree, such a short timer would literally allow people to get over 100 from this entire event. Fair enough if there were to be thousands of divines, but it would probably be closer to the hundreds, so a 12 hour timer ensures that more people that are trying will likely end up coming out with something.

I was one of those people that got a fair amount on my previous account during the event last year and I honestly felt really bad about it, so maybe that's why I approve of such a lengthy timer. While, yes, it would be nice to get all the divines you can afford, but with a limited quantity there HAS to be a limit to allow every player that wants to get one a fair chance.

Plus, if the spoiler image from a few days back is accurate, we will know the divines in advance that will make appearance, so it will be up to you to plan accordingly and aim for those divines.

If the timer were that short, all the older, richer players who have had time to hone their resources, will get everything. It would literally be a wrestling match between those players, while newer/poorer players watch all the divines slip down the drain..This system gives an equal chance to all and prevents greedy players from grabbing everything default smiley (y) Everyone has their own opinions though, this is totally subjective default smiley :)

I disagree with both of you.

First off because I still support the first way they did it. Black Friday is considered a rush. Some people get a deal, some don't. Some people woke up to be there every hour, some of us, like me, I just went when I felt like it. And I was busy some of those days and stuck only on my phone. I didnt really get to sit at a computer and do it until the end and I picked up about 4 divines in the last few hours.

Secondly, people previously could get multiple divines in one batch if they were very quick. And a lot of the complaints is how you couldn't see them before they were gone.

Well, some people were able to get multiple divines in those seconds. A small timer would stop that. In every release they could quickly get 1. But then everyone else has a chance at what is left. After 5/10 minutes, what's left should pretty much be what anyone else didn't want. Again, the spirit of Black Friday. But at least it means that person isn't shut out for from participating for the next 12 hours which is a ridiculous time requirement to me. There is nothing "Black Friday" about it unless they all go for equus.

But whatever. It's up to Howrse. I have no reason to spend money for this sale if I'm so limited in what I can get at the end of the day. So they lost out on me buying more than what i have because for 12 divines max, I already have enough.

And also, having money/patience to build resources and then spend them does NOT make a player "greedy." We work hard for what we get, no matter how we got it. And we don't deserve to be talked down about, generally or otherwise, just because something comes around where we can use our hard earned resources to our advantage.

No one was talking down to anyone, we will just stating why we disagreed with you. But, if you want my honest opinion, it IS greedy to want such a short timer just so that you can guarantee that you get all the divines you want, and comes across as having zero consideration for the fact that being able to buy so many is literally taking the opportunity from people that only want one or two.

I have worked for everything I have on this account, only really bought passes to extend my VIP and usually finish promos through personal resources, so please don't lecture me on saving resources and then using them, I know all about them, but it doesn't change my mindset.

While, yes, it is different from true Black Briday, but this is a game at the end of the day and not everyone wants to be locked into a constant battle just to get something out of it, because there is little to no restrictions on the amount that people can get.

Where is the "guarantee?" It's about having the opportunity, which has now been taken. That's the spirit of the holiday; That's how it works. We aren't sitting here talking about Christmas.

And it is talking down. Because there is nothing nice about calling someone greedy in this context. So, I don't appreciate you doing it, once more and directly at me. You can state why you disagree without feeling the need to call people who got a good benefit out of the event (or stand to) such a term. Just say it like it is, "the people who were able/are able to get a lot." They are not "the people who were/are greedy." We are people who just worked hard at this game or in real life and were able to expend more than others at this event.

Calling us greedy is rude. And keep being rude if that's how you want to be,

I don't see how I was aiming it directly at you? What I posted was an in general message and I do apologize if you took it that way, it wasn't my intention, but please don't twist my words into something they were not. I just believe in giving everyone a fair shot in these kind of events, considering it only happens once a year, that's all.
