Would anyone like to try a TB crossed with something? I've been dying for some action with my horses. Thanks!

Would actually probably make for a good target train for cut, cross country or trot. ![]() ![]()

Finally got my 20 wins on this one thats going to end up in the top 10 for Fjords for total skills, trot, and jump. But getting those wins was rough, how do y'all train your western crosses before starting them in comps? My english way does NOT translate to western comps

But getting those wins was rough, how do y'all train your western crosses before starting them in comps? My english way does NOT translate to western comps ![]() Depends on what their top skills are. For that horse I probably would have suggested training stamina and dressage to enter low level pleasure and/or reining comps. My go-to blupping method is to keep skills just slightly under the rookie limit so I can enter rookie comps. Keeping your horse's skills just a few skills under that limit ensures your horse will have some of the top skills possible for that level. For anyone who wants to go the rookie comp route, here is the formula to figure out what skill amount you can reach before you stop training/rides. Once you hit that amount, enter comps until those skills are just under rookie cap (you may have to do some more training or rides afterwards to increase it more), and when you're under the rookie cap, just enter for wins. formula= rookie max - (skill GP x 0.2) ![]()

I’d use breed specific comps once over rookie limit. In fact once you go over I’d say just finish training before entering more comps, and try to do breed specific, unless the horse you’re working with is Gypsy or Selle dominant.

Hello! I am looking to dive more into cross breeding horses and would like some help from you wonderful folks. First, what breed have you found best to improve Stamina, Speed and Jumping? Second, what two breeds make the most well-rounded cross breed you've found?

Hello! I am looking to dive more into cross breeding horses and would like some help from you wonderful folks. First, what breed have you found best to improve Stamina, Speed and Jumping? Second, what two breeds make the most well-rounded cross breed you've found? I made a skill set spreadsheet using the Directories section that lines up all the breeds based on top 3 or even 4 skill. I highlighted breeding groups within the sheet. Maybe making something similar would help? ![]()

Thank you for that idea, I hadn't thought of doing something like that. I will certainly give it a try and make something similar with good information for me.

Hello,
I have dabbled with crossbreeding on this game, but literally just played around with it. I am curious with one thing though. Has anyone (other than myself) thought of doing a real life cross that does exist? Like a warlander or a friesian sport horse? I am just super curious since I did start my own, but they are just for my own enjoyment really. Thank you in advance for any and all answers and I hope that you have a good evening. ![]()

I bred Freisian Sport Horses but they are quite a bit behind gp levels. I call them Legacy Friesian Warmbloods ![]()

Anyone want to crossbreed from 350 GP?

Anyone want to crossbreed from 350 GP? Not really. It is hard to find 350 GP horses and then blup them and just as hard to train and blup their foals. ![]()

I was bad. But there weren't any better Morgan purebred studs in public, so I went with one of two crosses I've been toying with in my mind. *le sigh* Ya tell yourself 'no more crosses' and what do ya do? Make a new cross. I need a breed name for it, I'm torn between Gypsy Morgan or Morgan Vanner: new colt

None of the themes I generally take work but when I looked at the GP and IBS it totals about 11gr. There's a Grumman F-11 Tiger. ![]() Usually if I have trouble making up a name with the parent horses names I'll pick a mountain with the same elevation as possible total points, a name in the language of the breed's origin, or a local artist or poet's name. ![]()

May you come up with a better one! ![]() ![]()

Oooh, I like those suggestions AVH. Gah! I guess I'll have to write all these names on little pieces of paper and do a random draw for it.

Oooh, I like those suggestions AVH. Gah! I guess I'll have to write all these names on little pieces of paper and do a random draw for it. Moonrider, if you use one of the Tinker names you should call the horse, "Remember to Pay". It's an Irish moral lore , "Remember to pay your tinker a tanner." Basically an admonition to not cheat the help and to remember to be kind and hospitable to strangers and wanderers. ![]()

I LOVE learning about different folklores, especially Irish. ![]() ![]()
