Unfortunately, in 2020, I lost one of my best friends, Sam. Since then I've been hoping to raise awareness of men's mental health and the importance of being open about mental health as a whole.

Struggling is nothing to be ashamed of. The more we can have an open conversation about what it's like to struggle with mental illness, the more we can lessen the stigma surrounding it.

Reach out if you are struggling. Remember, no one else can play the part you play in this world. There is not one person in this world that is exactly like you. You are completely unique, loved, and important.

When you lose someone, there's no right way to grieve. Never question the way someone grieves. For me; I like to follow the model of grief that suggests grief never lessens, but we expand our existence around it. The place that the person or animal takes up in our heart will never be smaller, but we simply grow around it and learn to embrace it as part of us.

I will never, ever forget Sam. He is in my thoughts always and I think about him almost every day. I don't expect that to change, but life has to carry on stubbornly.
Welcome to my page. My name is Em and I am twenty-five years old. I am from the UK and I own one beautiful horse, Basil (as pictured above ), two cats called Rosie and Loki, and two rabbits called Toph and Azula.

I have an MA in Creative and Critical Writing and a BA Hons in Creative Writing. I have a huge passion for writing, reading, photography, animals, and travelling. I love art and basically most things creative and am always up for talking about it with anyone that would like to.

I have a special place in my heart for Harry Potter, Merlin, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Doctor Who, Supernatural, and The 100. I'm also a huge fan of Yuzuru Hanyu the Japanese Figure Skater and two-time Olympic champion.

I have been casually learning Japanese for a while now and although I'm not very good I have a basic understanding of some of the language. Languages are something I'd very much like to learn in the future, alongside piano, guitar, and figure-skating.
